Fried Toblerone Buns

Recipe

Buns
1/2 ounce of dry yeast
2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
2 1/2 cups of flour
2 teaspoons of sugar
3/4 cup of warm water

To make buns
1. In a large bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water.
2. Add oil and sugar; let stand for 5 minutes
3. Mix flour and yeast mixture, and knead till you form soft dough.
* If it doesn’t form, add more water; one tablespoon at a time.
4. Knead for about 3-5 minutes till dough turns smooth and elastic.
5. Divide into 12 pieces; shape each into a ball.

*You can add in your own filling for the bun. Eg: red bean paste, chocolate etc.

Place the filling in the center of the buns. Deep fry the buns till golden brown.

Chocolate Chip Cornflake Macaroons

Recipe

4 egg whites from medium-sized eggs
8 ounces of icing sugar
9 ounces of chocolate chips
50 grams of cornflakes (crushed)
5 ounces of almonds (chopped)
5 ounces of sunflower seeds

1. Pop the almonds and sunflower seeds into the oven for about 5 mins, 140°C. Leave to cool.
2. Mix egg whites and icing sugar. Beat till mixture gets really stiff. Yepp to the extent of when you overturn your mixing bowl, the white gooey sweetness doesn’t flop onto your head :) IT MUST BE STIFF! (I beat my mixture for about 20-30 minutes)
3. Add in the cooled chopped almonds, sunflower seeds, crushed cornflakes and chocolate chips into the white gooey sweetness. Mix well.
4. Drop teaspoonfuls of the mixture into mini paper cups and then bake for 25-30mins at 140°C.
5. Leave on rack to cool. 10 minutes later it’s ready to be ravished!!

Grandma’s Caramel Pudding

Recipe

Pudding
6 eggs
1 1/2 cup of sugar
1 can of evaporated milk
1 tablespoon of custard powder
1 teaspoon of vanilla essence
1 cup of water

Caramel
1 cup of sugar

To make pudding
1. Beat eggs and sugar till completely dissolved.
2. Add custard powder. (Best to mix the power with a little bit of the milk first till it turns into a liquid, else it’ll go lumpy in your mix.
3. Add milk and vanilla essence.
4. Beat mixture till fluffy, then put aside.

To make caramel sauce
1. Put sugar over fire till it caramelizes brown. Careful not to burn it.
2. Add a little water to mix; sauce must be slightly thick.

Line baking tin/mold with butter. Pour in the caramel mixture, and then the pudding mix. Steam for approximately half and hour.
Leave to cool. Refrigerate and pour fruit cocktail (optional) over when serving.

Honey! Cherry Cornflakes!

Recipe

1 cup of sugar
1 1/2 cup of honey
1 teaspoon of vanilla essence
250 grams of butter
325 grams of cornflakes
1 bowl of chopped cherries

1. Melt butter, sugar and honey in a wok till sugar dissolves. Add vanilla essence.
2. Pour in cornflakes till all are coated, keep heat low so mixture will not harden.
3. Add chopped cherries. Mix well.
4. Place them into mini paper-cups and into the 150°C oven for 20 minutes or till slightly golden.
5. Leave on rack to cool.
